Virtual fly fishing anyone?

According to the Science magazine, our saltwater fly fishing experience will be rather limited if nothing is done to stop the current trend.

'Only 50 years left' for sea fish.

Not really the same but fly fishing is increasingly becoming more expensive. The tickets for a day fishing in, say, Austria has been ridiculous these past 5 years...

If I think rivers near me, there is one that is really expensive. If at other rivers the price of fishing license is around 10 €, in this river it is about 50 €. At other rivers you can purchase yearly permit for 50 - 150 €.

The Gmunden Traun in Austria was 70 euro's per DAY last year. This is absurd...

No wonder you like to fish in other places...

Ever considered coming to Finland?

Jay said...

No I've never considered Finland but maybe I should!

If you do come, do let me know. It would be nice to cross paths (not really sure can you say that in English).

The disadvantage is that Finland is much more expensive country than – for example Czech Republic.

Olli, that's for sure! If I come to Finland you're my guide!

You mean the price of alcohol? :)
