Nice picture. In the Fall, our October Caddis hatch - they're a big #8/#10 caddis with a pumpkin orange body.

Very impressive watching them hatch by the thousands in a single evening. They pop from the water like small hummingbirds...

I read of this October Caddis hatch from Flyfisherman magazine. It sounds like I should travel there to experience it...

Yes, though a lot of other people do too - only to discover the real bounty isn't the hatch as much as the die-off.

It's common to go fishless during the hatch, even when literally thousands of the huge caddis are pouring off the water.

Later in the year - when they start dieing off the shoreline bushes - you can pick up some big, big fish who are looking for an easy meal. Big fun.
